Leprechan Kid Crafts for St. Patrick's Day!

Hi everyone! It’s Stacey from Glued To My Crafts again! Now that Valentine’s Day is way out of our minds, it’s time to start thinking about all things green! That’s right – St. Patty’s Day is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with Leprechaun Kid Crafts?! Ready to learn how? If you have leftover orange tissue paper from the Lorax Paper Plate Craft I shared last month – you are well on your way my friend. Now let’s grab our other supplies and get to work!

Leprechan Kid Crafts for St. Patrick's Day!

What you’ll need:

  • Paper Plate
  • Orange Tissue Paper
  • Green/Yellow/Black Cardstock
  • Ivory Colored Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • School Glue
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Black Sharpie

And the steps:

  1. Using a paintbrush, have your child completely paint their paper plate and irony color. Set aside to let it dry.
  2. If your child is old enough, have them help you cut up the orange tissue paper into 2×2″ squares. If they can’t use scissors, they can also tear it up with their hands.
  3. Now take your glue and add a good layer around the rim of the paper plate. Place the tissue paper on top of the glue. This is the Leprechaun’s bread/hair.
  4. While the tissue paper is drying, you can create the Leprechaun’s lucky hat. I just cut a hat shape out of green cardstock and glued a black band & gold buckle to it.
  5. To finish the craft – staple the hat to the Leprechaun’s head and add life by drawing on a face in the center of the plate. And you are done!
