At 1 year old, one of the main things that my youngest son, Alex, identified with was Sesame Street and Elmo! So a Sesame Street themed party was a perfect fit. There were many fun aspects to this party. First up, I changed up our entryway mantel with some Sesame Street and birthday fun! I did a fairly simply and easy subway print in the party colors and made an Elmo wreath (just yarn wrapped, with 2′ white and orange cardstock circles, large black sequins for pupils)! Then I framed a portion of Alexander’s invitation as well as printed a larger version of the picture that was on his invite. One of my favorite aspects of the party were the ADORABLE Sesame Street goody buckets that the kids got to take home. I purchased the blue, red and green buckets from the dollar section of Target. I then used a 2′ circle punch to make circles for eyes, noses, and cookies. I found good-sized black sequins at Hobby Lobby that I used for pupils. Lastly I created a template from a picture online to cut out Oscar’s furry eyebrows. I simply glued those pieces in place, and voila! Sesame Street goody buckets. Party games! We had them all: Oscar’s Trash Toss, Pin the Nose on Elmo, and How Many Cookies in Cookie Monster’s Jar? And the cake! Though we had a ton of cupcakes (again, thanks to my Mom), I made a simple round “smash” cake for Alex. And who else should it be than Mr. Cookie Monster?

It was a great time and a great theme for a 1-year old’s party! I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse.

Well it’s been months since my oldest’s 3rd birthday party. But with the help of ANO contributor Rachel, I finally got what few pictures I took of the party into collages to share with you all! I purchased a printable package from the Wants and Wishes Shop, but other than that, everything else was DIY. I created VIP passes as invitations that the kids got to wear at the party. I created a little photobooth equipped with a “Greetings from Radiator Springs” sign, mustaches and checkered flags. There were also “Mater Teeth” which are not shown, to protect the innocent. Though I have to say those were a big hit! I updated our mantel with a party printable, a picture of AJ and his name and the number 3. The cupcakes were made by my Mother and were so delicious! My Mom also scoured the Valley for Cars favors, each take home bag was packed to the brim with Cars crayons, toys, Pez, and other candy! Lastly, the racetrack was the hit of the party. Hand crafted by “Papa” (my Dad) the kids spent a majority of their time racing their new Hotwheels down the track.

Oh, and as “thank you” cards from the party, I sent out a copy of the photobooth pictures to each guest through Postagram. I thought it would be a fun souvenir from the party! It was a great time, and I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

When planning my daughter’s birthday party we knew the theme had to be BOOKS! The girl is OBSESSED! I’m secretly hoping she always keeps her nose planted in a good book as she gets older. Anyways lots of love went into all the party details; from a massive tissue paper pom bookworm to quotes like “There is more treasure in books than all the pirate loot on Treasure Island” gracing our walls. With a serious love for books I had SO MUCH fun with this party. For additional party details visit us at Harding Happenings.

When I found out I was having a second son I decided almost immediately that I was going to do the lil man mustache/tie 1st birthday party that I was seeing in the blogosphere! I had been collecting ideas and mustache items as well as ties for months before the party! I even had a newborn photo taken of him in a tie to use for the party (I’m crazy, I know) I had SUCH a great time putting this party together for my lil man!

I really wanted a bold color pallet. I LOVE lime green and teal and thought adding red with a black background would make for some fun!

Mostly everything you see was DIY. For larger photos of this party visit Life According to the Streets. To see the cute monthly photos I put together for the birthday boy visit HERE. To get your hands on the adorable mustache combs I gave away as favors visit Cowboy Comb.

If you know my son, you know he is a HUGE fan of anything Toy Story, so it was the obvious choice for his 2nd birthday party theme! I thought about going the more abstract route of spaceships and cowboy hats but he lights up when he sees the actual characters so I just went for it!

I had so much creating this party for my lil Toy Story fan! For full party details visit my original post at Life According to the Streets.
