So read a little bit about Lisa, her new endeavors and stick around to the end to enter her giveaway!

Hi, my name is Lisa.

Lisa of Popcorn Served Daily

My quest is to take the ordinary and turn it into the extraordinary.

 Whether it’s my every day,

a simple moment

or an object I’ve found treasure hunting,

boring does not reside here.

This past year I took a break from posting on Popcorn to concentrate on a project and now I’m back in business.  I’ve added my own YouTube DIY channel.  (I’m very excited!)

On my channel, I’ll be demonstrating DIY, entertaining, crafts and décor tips,

all from my home to yours.

I’m a mom to three wonderful kids.  A wife to an exceptionally supportive husband.

A  hockey mom.

 A Latina.

 A fan of Goodwill.

And, I really, really, love popcorn.

So… If you like to re-use, repurpose and restyle items from your own home, you like fun, you need inspiration and you love popcorn, then I’m your gal.

Together,

let’s transform the ordinary and make your every day a Feature Presentation.

Let’s connect:

This Year… Finding Balance

Finding Balance by April Bradham of Wellness & Fulfillment

Hi friends! If you haven’t guessed it yet, my word of the year is BALANCE. I’ve had an amazing year, meeting new and wonderful friends, nourishing a love of creativity – but along with all of that I have to find balance with family, home, and me. So this year, I’ll be focusing on finding the right balance for my life. And today I’m so very excited to bring you some words of wisdom from a very dear and intelligent friend of mine, April Bradham of Wellness & Fulfillment. April is one of those gals that does it all. And I’m always amazed at how cool, calm and collected she is, and she shares her knowledge through her profession as a Life Coach and through the Wellness & Fulfillment Blog (which is fabulous by the way). And today she is sharing with us some practical steps to integrate balance into our lives – love it!

April Bradham of Wellness & Fulfillment

Hi there! I’m April Bradham of Wellness & Fulfillment. I am a Certified Professional Coach and Reiki Master Teacher assisting clients with various wellness challenges; specializing in stress management, weight loss, pain management and self care. With the focus on holistic wellness, I utilize a range of services and resources to assist people in finding their way to a healthy and fulfilling life.

We are busy people. Regardless of who I speak to, very few people don’t respond to “How are things?” with the some form of the answer “Good but busy”. It almost seems as if there is a competition out there to see who can get the busiest. The winner will win a slew of stress related health problems and regrets of not spending enough time on the important things in life. It’s not a great prize and we don’t really want it, yet we all continue to compete. Regardless of the stress or the amount of time it will take that we don’t have, we keep piling on things until one day, we completely break. Why do we do this? For each person it is a little different but the range of reasons can include the inability to say no, feeling obligated to do more, not feeling as if we are as important as the things we have to do, etc. It is a vicious and dangerous cycle that we thrive on until we are exhausted and burnt out.

The solution is fairly simple but hard to enforce. We need to put ourselves first and demand that we remain balanced in our lives. We need to start running our calendars rather than have them run us. When we are out of balance and spending too much time in areas that don’t serve us, we are not the best us. We cannot give 100% to anything we are doing if 100% of us isn’t available.

Not providing time to relax, center and focus is a common spiral that can be broken if we are aware of it. Once you become aware and implement strategies to keep it under control, the rewards are worth far more than the difficulty it might cause. Living a balanced life we have the energy to spend on our passions, our families, and our purpose. We have a sense of calm and peacefulness. Every moment is enjoyable and effortless instead of stressful and hard.

Here are some steps you can take to integrate more balance in your life:

  • Learn to say no – You don’t have to do everything for everyone. It is a hard lesson to learn, but if you aren’t realistic with your time then you are unable to give the proper attention to the things you want to commit to.
  • Ask for help – It is a hard thing for many, but asking for help is critical. Your friends and family want to see you happy and helping can also give them a sense of joy.
  • Build in relaxation time – You have to have time that is dedicated to you. Something to look forward to and that helps your soul feel nurtured. It isn’t about the amount of time; it is more about the effectiveness of it. List out things that you wish you had time for and would relax you. Pick from them, rotate through them or do all of them. Whatever works, just make sure there is a routine in place to give you frequent YOU time.
  • List it out – List out everything that you are spending your time on. Narrow down the list to the things that aren’t critical or making you happy. Of those items, what can you remove? What can you let go of?
  • Practice – It is important to build a practice of balancing our minds and energy. It can be a meditation routine, long baths, or simply taking deep breaths with our eyes closed throughout the day. Find what speaks to you and makes you feel calm and relaxed. Make sure to make it something you can integrate easily into your daily life. This will help reinforce the changes you are making and keep you balanced in stressful situations.

Thank you April for sharing with us today! I’m going to start integrating those steps into my life starting today, the first of the year is a great place to start, don’t you think? If you enjoyed what April shared with us today, make sure you stop by her Wellness & Fulfillment Blog; you can also find her on Twitter and Facebook!

Now I’ll leave you with a fun quote on balance that I found and loved…

{Feature Post} Keeping Your Personal Style with Fall Trends

Today I have a special treat for you! My very dear friend Jackie is an Image Consultant and is sharing some Fall fashion and makeup trends! Jackie Wheeler of JackieStyle Image Consulting, featuring BeautiControl Cosmetic, has been in the fashion industry for over 20 years. She has a degree in Fashion from Arizona State Univeristy. Jackie has been helping hundreds of women over the last 20 years feel confident and beautiful within their own personal style through color analysis, body type,  fashion personality, customized skincare and makeup application. Jackie has been married for 13 years to the love of her life and has 2 VERY busy boys (6 & 2).

I’ve known Jackie since I used to be a BeautiControl consultant myself, and I still love and use their products! Jackie also hosts a local event called Switch & Ditch. The idea is for each participant to collect ten items, clothing, shoes or accessories, that they no longer want, bring to the party and in return choose up to 10 items from among items that the other participants have brought to take home. I’ll hosted a party in the Spring, you can check that out HERE, and we’re planning another one for next month so my local friends, stay tuned! But without further ado, I’ll turn it over to Jackie!

Blog :: Facebook :: Twitter :: Shop

A big question each season is “How do I make these fashion trends work for me?” I help my clients sift through fashion overload that comes at us from every angle. I am a fan of fashion and all the silly, crazy, creative designs, however, it can be overwhelming to find what is best for you as the unique individual that you are. Let’s sift through it together.

First, healthy skin is the best way to keep your style and image on top. Be sure to use your skin care system twice a day, morning and night. Have you had our skin sensored to be sure you are using the proper system for you? Message me and I will make sure you have an opportunity to try the skin test sensors. Heathy skin also allows your makeup to blend easily and you use less no matter the current trend.

Second, what is your personal style? What do you feel your best in? Are you classic, dramatic, romantic, or natural? Knowing your personality will save you time and money. Just as a quick example, if you do not like prints it would not be in your best interest to buy all prints. If you love flowing looks a tailored menswear look would feel uncomfortable. To find out more about your personal style check out this quiz, just click on the ebeauti link.

Fashion fades, only style remains the same. ~ Coco Chanel

My top 3 Fall Fashion Trends:

  • Vibrant jewel tone colors – I am very excited about the return to the jewel tone color palette. This color family looks so beautiful on many. You’ll be seeing the deep royal purple, pinks (honey suckle & carmine), navy & black combined and peacock. You’ll also see grey and, of course, the fall expected colors browns and neutrals. Do you know what your best colors? You can find out which colors say, “WOW” on you by having personalized color analysis done by me or get general idea via ebeauti.
  • Animal print – this trend comes and goes. Find a print you like in a classic style and keep it forever, pulling it out when the trend shows up again. So it is not so overwhelming use the print in a scarf paired with a solid backdrop. You’ll see the print in pants, tops, shoes, belts and bags. Keep it to one print for your total outfit. If you wear an animal print bottom keep the rest simple.

Animal Print & Fur Collar

  • Faux fur accents – fur is every where, used to line a jacket or a cuff, on your accessories, shoes and bags. Again, limit the use. A little goes a long way. This year the use of colored fur is huge. Add a little around your neck or cuff by using a removable fur collar/cuff.

Fur Trim Vest

My top 3 Makeup trends:

  • Red lips – Red can scare people. It is a dramatic color causing others to take notice. Luckily red lip colors come in many shades and options. If you have never worn a red, a red gloss like BeautiControl’s Ruby Slippers is a great choice. Gives some shine and a tint of red without being too bold. A more bold shade like BeautiControl’s XOXO or a subtle shade like Fire and Ice will work if you love wearing color on you lips. Remember if your lips are bold keep the rest of your makeup balanced yet understated.

Reds – Ruby Slippers, XOXO, Fire and Ice & Metallic Shadows

  • Smokey eyes in purple – A smokey eye is what most woman want. The makeup industry has changed it up a bit by emphasizing purples with this trend. It is beautiful and bold. If this is a new thing for you just add a little bit or keep it for evening. Take a look at these beautiful purple options.

Smokey Eyes and Red Lips & Cat Eyes

  • Cat eyes – This technique takes a steady hand and some practice. Many use a liquid liner to achieve this look but you can do it with a pencil liner as well. You’ll see both the single line and the double.

Drama Queen, Passion and Tropic BeautiControl Shadows

Pick two trends you feel comfortable with and implement them into your wardrobe and style this fall. Keep it fun. Doing to many trends in one look will throw off your style. Good Luck! Keep in mind changes are coming again in the spring. When you have fashion and makeup questions come to JackieStyle. Helping you with your closet dilemma, shopping challenges, skincare and makeup questions and needs is my specialty. I would love the opportunity to work with you personally if you are in the Phoenix Metro area.
