Game Day with Tyson Honey BBQ Chicken Strips #MealsTogether

Hi friends! Did you all celebrate the Big Game yesterday with family and friends? We did! We love football parties in our house. And this year we had some fabulous food and appetizers, thanks in part to Tyson Honey BBQ Chicken Strips! Now I love a good home-cooked meal just like any other gal, but if you put together parties you know that the food portion of party planning can be tricky! You want a delicate balance of homemade, tasty and easy so that you’re not stressing out over every little detail at the end.

For our party I decided on a menu of some sweet treats, snack mix, drinks and some fabulous BBQ Chicken Pizza! I knew that I could get all I needed and more from our local Walmart, so me and little man set out to shop. You can check out our fun shopping experience in our Game Day Shopping at Walmart Google+ album! While there we picked up everything we needed, including some Tyson’s Honey BBQ Strips!

Now these strips came in so handy! Rather than having to cook the chicken, I just grabbed a ready-made pizza crust, our favorite BBQ sauce and cut up the strips to put on the pizza! Genius, right?

Just top that baby with some diced green onions and fresh mozzarella and you have  yourself one FANTASTIC pizza! I have to admit, I think I loved it even more with the Tyson Honey BBQ Chicken, over the grilled chicken we normally have. The flavor was so rich and amazing! Sound good? Well here’s the recipe, just for you!

{Thrifty Thursday} Tips to Save this Superbowl Sunday

Fun tips on how to save money planning a party for Superbowl Sunday! { anightowlblog.com } #ThriftyThursday #Superbowl #Party

Hi friends! We’re running Thrifty Thursday a little differently today. Yes, Goodwill is still involved in a FUN way! But today we’re focusing primarily on how to save money when planning the BIG PARTY on Sunday – yes, the Superbowl! Now football is HUGE in my household and especially because my husband’s favorite team is in the running this year (go Niners!), I’m getting things ready! But I sure like to do things in the most cost-effective way, so here are a few party-planning, thrifty tips!

Shop the Dollar Store for Superbowl Sunday! { anightowlblog.com } #ThriftyThursday #Superbowl #Party

Tip #1 – Shop the Dollar Store! I don’t know about your local Dollar Store – but my Dollar Tree every year around this time has FUN football party items! Plates, cups, napkins…even fun goodies for the kids! You can even think outside of the box – right now there are a ton of St. Patrick’s Day items too, which are the perfect shade of football field green (like the scarf in my picture)!

Shop clearance items year-round for Superbowl Sunday! { anightowlblog.com } #ThriftyThursday #Superbowl #Party

Tip #2 – Shop Clearance! If you’re like me, you KNOW you’re going to have a Superbowl party every year. So a few months ago when I was at everyone’s favorite store – TARGET – I found a TON of awesome football party supplies: streamers, picks, straws and straws – all for pocket change! So of course I snagged them up and stored them for a couple of months and just broke them out this week. So fun and I know I got a screamin’ deal.

Make some DIY Decor for Superbowl Sunday! { anightowlblog.com } #ThriftyThursday #Superbowl #Party

Tip #3 – DIY Some Super Decor! Earlier this week I shared with you my Easy Football Field Party Table that I made with $4 worth of felt, some white masking tape and some numbers. And it was a hit! Add in some homemade football bunting and you’re ready to go. All for a few bucks.

Use free printables for Superbowl Sunday! { anightowlblog.com } #ThriftyThursday #Superbowl #Party

Tip #4 – Use Free Printables! There area  TON of them out there, from wrappers to boxes to toppers! Shop around on Pinterest and you’re sure to find just what you need. I’ve pinned a few of my FAVORITE printables on our Football Pinterest Board!

Shop your home for Superbowl Sunday! { anightowlblog.com } #ThriftyThursday #Superbowl #Party

Tip #5 – Shop Your Home! Lucky for me I have a huge sports fanatic in the home, so finding footballs and jerseys and 49ers memorabilia is so very easy. So if you’re in the same boat, walk around your house and pick up football or sports related items to complement your party’s decor! It really adds a fun and personal touch. That’s exactly what Lisa from The Goodwill Gal and Popcorn Served Daily did to update her Goodwill hutch for the big day. And remember I told you I had something FUN to share? Well Lisa shared this fabulous video with me earlier this week – Superbowl Decorating Ideas! And today she’s allowing me to share it with all of you! Take a quick peak and if you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to her channel. She’s a wealth of thrifty, but fabulous, decor and party ideas!

Well I hope you enjoyed the tips! I’m getting things ready for the big day and will have some fun things to share with you on Monday, the day after, so be sure to check back!

Holiday Shopping for My #SportsFreak365

Hi friends! Today is a FUN day because I get to introduce you the number one SportsFreak in my life: my husband! I know I don’t talk too much about him here on the blog (he’s not too into crafts and DIY, haha), so maybe that’s why interviewing him for this post was so much fun. The question was recently posed: who’s the SportsFreak in your life and why? And Andre was the answer.

On our very first date, the subject of football came up. What might be a turn off for many girls was intriguing to me! You see, I grew up with football enthusiasts of a dad and a big brother, so I can hold my own. I found out that night that Andre played football into college and had an overall respect and love of football, but also that he had a deep rooted alliance to one team: The San Francisco 49ers!

Now where did this love of the 49ers stem from you might ask? Well it turns out that San Francisco happened to win the Superbowl the year that Andre was born. Now that’s pretty cool in the eyes of child. Always fun to root for a winner! But icing on the cake? Andre’s father liked the Cowboys and he thought it was fun to root for their number one rival at the time, which just so happened to be the 49ers. Yes, I have an antagonist on my hands!

But what sealed the deal for Andre was when he met his lifetime football idol when he was 10: Jerry Rice! He was at a trading card event where he saw Jerry and got to shake his hand and see his HUGE Superbowl ring up close and personal! And yes, he loves Jerry to this day. And now his fanaticism is being passed down to our boys who say “let’s go Niners” every time they see football on TV.

So this coming holiday season, what is TOP on my list for Andre? Yes, 49ers gear! We do have one issue though, we live in Arizona! So you can imagine that San Francisco 49ers products are somewhat hard to come by. Enter SportsFreak365.com! SportsFreak365.com has products and gear from every sport and every team  you can imagine! And one of my favorite products on their site is the design-your-own sports calendar!

I was able to make Andre his very own customized San Francisco 49ers calendar, with all (and only) his favorite players! And trust me, this is a HUGE feature because he has very strong feelings about these players! And he LOVES the result!

I still have more items hanging out in my cart that I will be buying for him for Christmas! Oops – I hope he doesn’t read this post! But what about your SportsFreaks this year? Showing off your team spirit has never been easier! Whatever team you root for and whatever sport they play, find the gear you need at SportsFreak365.com. Just in time for the holidays, you can get 30% off any purchase using the code “Clever30.” And while you’re there, be sure to enter to win $500 toward team gear in Ditka’s SportsFreak of the Week Contest!

I was selected for participation in this campaign as a member of Clever Girls Collective.

{Party Rock} A Superbowl Soiree

On Sunday we had a few friends over to watch the Superbowl. Now I love any reason to throw a good party. And with my new trusty friend, the Silhouette Cameo, I was able to make a few more things on my own than normal!

I originally saw the idea of a football field table on Pinterest of all things, shocker I know. It was pinned from Counting it All Joy.

Such a great idea, so I gave it a try…I also added in some homemade football bunting!

And now for the food and drinks! We served enchilada casserole, carne asada and all the fixings for some yummy burritos. That’s Superbowl – Arizona style! Add in a trio of cheesy dip, bean dip, and guacamole and you have all you need for a bowl of tortilla chips. Don’t forget the treats! We had chocolate covered football pretzels, brownies, cookies, lemon bars, and strawberry shortcake!

Last but not least, the drinks! I did a take on the famous No Biggie The Best Party Punchand added a little football flair to bottles of water.

It was a fantastic time! Though I didn’t see much of the game and ended up re-watching most of the commercials today (loved the Fiat, Doritos, and M&Ms commercials). Thanks to all my friends who brought yummy items over. I’m still stuffed!

{Party Rock!} Are You Ready for Some Football?

The Superbowl is fast approaching, and I’ve been busy on Pinterest and blogs gathering some fun ideas for a party that we’re hosting. Are you planning a Superbowl party? Well if you are…here are some FANTASTIC parties that I’ve found that might provide some “PIN”spiration:

I know that I’ve jotted down some great ideas from these parties…what fun football parties and ideas have you come across?
