InstaFriday: Christmas and #ANOWeekend

Hi friends! I hope you all are having a fabulous holiday week! Before we get into this week’s #ANOWeekend features and prompt for this weekend, I thought I’d share a few of my Christmas Instagrams this week!

Phase 1 :: breakfast at Mom and Dad’s, Jon on potato duty, baby snugglin time, and our stocking haul!

Phase 2 :: Present time! Candy canes, slippers and NERF guns galore, oh boy!

Phase 3 :: Dinner at home, more presents, matching beanies and new Leap Frog Tablets!

{InstaFriday} Eight April #Photoaday Challenges

It’s InstaFriday! And typically I’m wrapping up my week of Instagram #photoaday challenge pics. However, tomorrow is the last day of March (really? where did it go??), then after that I will be doing a recap of my month in #marchphotoaday pics and wanted to spare you all the duplication! Did you participate in #marchphotoaday? If so, make sure you link up with Nest of Posies and The House of Smiths for a whole lotta recap fun!

So what are we signing up for in April? I’ve rounded up some fun lists and challenges for you to consider…
Chantelle of Fat Mum Slim has mixed up the hashtag this month but kept the list as fabulous as ever with this #photoadayapril spread. I’m definitely in.

Pantene teamed up with Miss Chantelle this month to come up with a hair-raising good list for #hairphotoaday. 
April from Live a Life of Love and Erin from Bringing Up Burns teamed up to start the #photo366 project. They even have a Facebook page dedicated to it. I just might give this one a try…though I’m a little nervous about taking on too much photo fun! Haha!
Paper Coterie has been connecting with its followers via hashtag projects like #lovingthistoday and #takingtimeforplay. They are so intriguing! For April, you can get involved with this list and #connectwithpc. 
When looking for challenges, I happened across this list from Jessica of Other Such Things. I just like her style…and this is a great list!
Calling all foodie fans! This list is for you! I’ve seen lists by Lesley from The Purple Carrot before and they’re just great. A fun take on a #photoaday challenge.
Grace, a blogger at Chois-R-Us and her friends came up with this fun list. I like the fact that it was friends who decided what they wanted to see each other post. I love connecting with others that way. That is, in fact, the main reason why we’re on Instagram and doing #photoaday challenges, right?
I first saw this group pull together a monthly photo skill challenge, another great take on #photoaday. However, due to the crossover from all the monthly challenges they’ve changed their format to weekly. Now if you visit www.instafa.me or follow @getinstafame on IG you can keep up with their weekly prompts.

{InstaFriday} Photo A Day – Week 8

i can’t believe we’re nearing the end of  february! do you know what that means? yup, a photo recap is on the horizon. i can’t wait to see all the collages! last month was so much fun, and i connected with some new fantastic IGers! let’s take a look at this week’s photo a day feed…

it’s that “time” of year. and the cold/cough season has hit our family hard. thank goodness for good, strong meds!

|| day 18: drink ||
well of COURSE it’s going to be starbucks! but this day was a tall skinny mocha day, a break away from my traditional iced coffee.
|| day 19: something you hate to do ||
two boys in diapers? yes, i hate changing dirty diapers. hopefully AJ will feel up to potty training round 2 (don’t ask) soon!
|| day 20: handwriting ||
i don’t write anything by hand anymore, so this picture was a little tricky. but i had kept a thank you tag from a handmade item i had bought from a friend that i thought was cute…

i have a lot of favorite pics of my little family…but this one is up there. this was taken in the hospital right after our first boy, AJ, was born. such a special and life-changing day!

i’m typically in the office 3 days a week, but due to the cold/cough i’ve been fighting, this day i was working from my home office.  cute n’ cozy.
|| day 23: your shoes ||
cute comfy flats everyday. i haven’t been much of a heels gal since i had babies, but i’m working on getting back in them! it’s like riding a bike, right??

{InstaFriday} Photo A Day – Week 7

well we’re well into the #febphotoaday project on Instagram by @fatmumslim…take a look at this week’s photo a day feed…

i feel like i’ve taken a few photos of myself lately, so i thought i’d go a different route for this “me” pic. my little guy, alexander, looks a lot like his mommy. i see myself in him every single day.

date night with the hubby! we went out saturday to celebrate valentine’s day. it was a great time!
|| day 12: in your closet ||
we have a small picture window in our master bedroom closet. i didn’t think much of it when we built the house, but it has become one of my favorite features! plenty of sunlight during the day and a nice view of the estrella mountains!
|| day 13: blue ||
well this has been my most “liked” picture yet, i believe. there must be a lot of fans of tiffany blue. and i totally get that.
|| day 14: heart ||
a pic of my boys for valentine’s day. they have momma’s heart.
|| day 15: phone ||
i was at the office this day, so it was easier to take a picture of my desk phone with my iPhone, though not necessarily exciting.

just got the signed copy of Push-up Pops by Courtney Dial that i won through her blog, Pizzazzerie! it’s a fantastic book with great recipes, i can’t wait to try some of them out!

{InstaFriday} Top Ten InstaApps

As you may have gathered by my blog posts thus far, I {heart} Instagram. It’s by far my app of choice on my iPhone. I love to see all the fun, beauty, and creativeness that others are able to capture in pictures. It’s inspirational. I also love to share things that are important to me and what inspires me.

I’m still continuing the #photoaday challenge by @fatmumslim. If you want to see my recent pics for that challenge, you can see the album HERE. However, this week I’m going to do something a little different.

I’m asked from time to time what my favorite apps are to edit or create photos I post on Instagram. And I always love to share! I only use my iPhone for pictures, but there are many apps that I love to use for filters, frames, and labels. Here are my Top Ten faves:


PicFrame
There are many frame apps out there, this is the one that I use. You can choose from many collage frames sizes and styles, and with the add-on, add labels to your photos.


Phoster
Make a cool poster out of your photos! Fun options!


Labelbox
Add cute labels and banners to your photos.


Masking Tape
You can washi “tape” your pictures onto frames with TONS of different and fun options!


Pic Collage
Make a free form collage with different shaped and sized photos! Change backgrounds, add text.


Montage
Crop your photos into fun shapes!


Halftone
Turn your photos into a comic book sketch!


Phonto
Add text to images. Send a message!


LemeLeme
Share your photos with others, change them up with fun filters and effects.


Pocketbooth
It’s a photo booth in your “pocket”! You can use this in combo with Pic Collage for a fun photo compilation!
