{Thrifty Thursday} Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market

Hi friends and welcome to Thrifty Thursday! I have a fun installment, where not only will I show you my thrifty, vintage find from the last week, but I’m also going to tell you about the FUN event where I picked up my vintage finds…the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market!
This event is put on by the “trio,” go read more about them here!

Some highlights…
I met my good friend Symone at the event, whom I haven’t seen in over two years! Always a good excuse to get out of the house and spend quality time with friends! Fun story, I also “reminded” Laura from Pink Cake Plate about the market through Instagram, so I ended up getting to chat with her a bit too!
I discovered some fantastic local vendors!
Like Vagabond X-Change who made this GORGEOUS Arizona flag out of reclaimed wood!
Symone’s friend Lisa snatched it up, but I found out that they have a booth at a local antique mart that I may just have to visit!

And this little birdie at the Mad for Wood booth was just too cute! My friend ended up buying an adorable teal blue chair with a zebra print seat from that booth.
Also, I met Liz from The Blue Eyed Owl! I’ve interacted with Liz numerous times through social media, so I was glad that we got to actually meet in person, and she’s just fabulous! Oh and her booth was ahhhhh-mazing!

And of course, as promised, I’ll finally share my thrifty, vintage purchase from the market. I had my lil lil one, so unfortunately (or maybe fortunately on my wallet), I didn’t have much time to do serious shopping. However, if you know about my Pyrex obsession, you’ll know why I had to pick up these beauties from the Blue Eyed Owl booth! A lovely set of four Spring Blossom 2 mugs that go perfectly with my medium bowl! I just LOVE them! I’ve never come across Pyrex mugs on my own thrifty adventures, so I was so thankful Liz had a set for sale!
Well I hope you enjoyed this week’s installment. What thrifty or vintage finds have you come across lately?

{Thrifty Thursday} My 50% Off Goodwill Haul

Well, I did it folks. Made it to a Goodwill 50% off day on a Saturday. I typically hit the store during the week because I don’t like dealing with long lines and big crowds that the half-off Saturdays bring, but I sometimes make an exception. On those days, unless I’m early, I don’t expect to find Pyrex goodies, though I did come across this Pyrex Country Cornflower carafe! Too cute!

What I DO tend to look for on half-off days are play clothes for the kiddos. I have two young and very active boys, who tend to “break in” their clothing quite well, whether they’re new or used. So I always see how I can supplement their wardrobe with thrifty finds. And this trip proved quite successful! I snagged Gap Kids, Old Navy, Children’s Place and Mossimo clothing for the little guys…and all of this for just $12. Not too shabby!

Well folks, that was my haul this week. What great deals did you come across?

{Thrifty Thursday} Pyrex Gems

This past week, I was only able to make a brief trip into a local Arizona Goodwill, but that 20 minutes was enough for me to unearth a couple of Pyrex gems.

First, I found this lovely Empire Scroll – Vines oval dish. It is in great shape, and I can wait to use it. It’s a perfect size for so many things.

I also came across this little Snowflake Blue round dish. Though there was no set and it doesn’t really “go well” with other Pyrex I already own, I just couldn’t leave it on the shelf! Could you have? It’s too cute!

Lastly, they’re no Pyrex, but I found these fun tins that I just love! The colors are so me…I can’t wait to find a good use for them in the home!

Well those were my finds for this week! What fun stuff did you come across?

{Thrifty Thursday} More Pyrex and Corning Ware!

Well lookie here! I’m just starting out with posting my thrifting finds…and I was tagged as “Thriftaholic of the Week” by Morgan from Meet Virginia. Go check it out, along with the weekly thrift linky party!

It was another good week for thrifting! And yes, I go thrifting weekly, sometimes more! How else would I be able to share all my fabulous finds? I’m actually always on the lookout for vintage Pyrex, and sometimes I really luck out!

In the way of Pyrex this week…I picked up this lovely Town & Country oval divided serving dish. I just love it! It’s in fantastic condition too, which is a bonus.

Now I use my Pyrex for cooking and mixing, I love the stuff. But I also was raised using Corning Ware as well. I’m a sucker for a beautiful set, plus the casserole dishes with lids are just so handy to have around! So of course I had to pick up these Spice ‘O Life dishes…

The top one says “Le Persil La Sauge”, which in French means parsley and sage (and no, I didn’t know that, I looked it up). And the bottom one says “La Marjolaine” which is marjoram in French. I’ve already cooked with them; there is nothing like good Corning Ware in the kitchen!

My last purchase of the week is a hoot. No, really…it’s an owl and a bank! It says “Be Wise, Save”. Too fun. I’m thinking about painting it a lovely cream color and putting it in my office. Or maybe he’ll stay his fun brown and orange, with blue eyes.

Well those were my finds for this week! What fun stuff did you come across?

{Thrifty Thursday} My Pyrex Pick-Ups

Welcome to A Night Owl Blog! One of my favorite things to do of late is to scope out local thrift stores for all sorts of goodies. I have always been a vintage Pyrex lover; I grew up using my Mom’s beautiful gold Daisy Pyrex 4-pc bowl set and Friendship Oval divided dish (which I confiscated when I moved out on my own). But I just recently realized that these vintage treasures sometimes end up in the most unlikely of places: thrift stores! Now I’m a regular. So I will be sharing with you weekly the goods that I uncover.

Over the past couple of weeks I have had two fairly successful trips to Goodwill. The first time I picked up this gorgeous, well-kept set of Butterfly Gold 2 bowls.

I also came across this small Square Flowers (Verde) bowl (wish there were more of those!) and a medium-sized Spring Blossom 2 bowl. I love the green!

Have you come across any fun thrifting finds lately? Tell me about it! Share a link in the comments below and I’ll feature you the following week!
