{Project Home} Tulle Thanksgiving Wreath

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing with you our Fall-colors inspired Tulle Thanksgiving Wreath! I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is already upon us! There is so much to be thankful for this year. I originally shared this project and tutorial with Sara over at Mom Endeavors for her Cornucopia of Creativity series, but I wanted to be sure to share with you just in case you missed it! But be sure to check out the amazing projects that have been shared at this series, they’are all so terrific!

So as you know, I’m a big fan of all things tulle, but since I don’t have any girls, I use tend to use tulle on wreaths instead of tutus. Tulle is a great alternative to yarn wreaths if you are running short on time and patience! So here’s how you can make your very own fun and festive wreath…

What you’ll need:

  • Wreath form (I used a 14″ form)
  • Brown, burgundy and gold tulle
  • Wooden initial
  • Martha Stewart Copper Liquid Gilding
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Hot glue

And the steps:

  • Cut similar lengths of the three colors of tulle (for a 14″ form, I cut mine to approx. 16″ inches long)
  • Simply tie each length of tulle around the wreath form, alternating colors, until the form is covered
  • Paint your wooden initial with Martha Stewart Copper Liquid Gilding (opt.)
  • Hot glue the wooden initial to a length of tulle and tie onto the wreath where you would like the initial
  • Cut burlap ribbon to the desired length to hang your wreath (I also painted the burlap ribbon with the liquid gilding so that the color matched the copper initial)
  • Hot glue the burlap ribbon to the back of the wreath, and you’re done!

And here’s how it turned out!

What do you think? I love the colors, they all remind me so much of Fall and of Thanksgiving. The wreath is also versatile and could be hung anytime during Fall or Winter! If you enjoyed this tutorial make sure you check out our collection of tulle wreaths so far this year! Next up, Christmas. Can you believe it?

Tulle Pumpkin Wreath + Tutorial

Hi friends! Today I’m going to share with you another one of my tulle wreaths I’ve made recently, a festive Pumpkin Tulle Wreath! I originally shared this project and tutorial with Vanessa of See Vanessa Craft for her Halloween series; however, one thing I love about this wreath is that it is appropriate for Fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving! It’s currently still hanging on our kitchen pantry door even after all of the Halloween has been put away, and it’s just so cute! Want to make your own? Well here is the tutorial:

What you’ll need:

  • Wreath form (I got mine from the dollar spot at Target!)
  • Orange tulle
  • Green tulle
  • Brown foam sheet
  • Ribbon to hang
  • Hot glue

And the steps:

  • Cut similar lengths of the orange tulle (you can see from the picture my pieces measured about 14 inches long)
  • Simply tie each length of tulle around the wreath form until most of the form is covered
  • Cut out a “stem” from the brown foam sheet and hot glue it to the wreath
  • Hot glue a small piece of green tulle on the back for leaves
  • Lastly, hot glue a ribbon to the back to hang the wreath, and you’re done!

And here’s how it turned out:

Isn’t it fun? I’m also going to be sharing an awesome Thanksgiving Tulle Wreath over at Mom Endeavors this week during her Cornucopia of Creativity Series, so make sure you stop by to say hi! What Thanksgiving crafts have you been up to lately before everything becomes ALL Christmas?

{Thrifty Thursday} Halloween Tulle Spider Wreath

Hi friends! Another installment of Thrifty Thursday here, and today it’s Halloween-themed! It’s slowly but surely starting to look like Halloween in the Sneed household. I feel so behind! I shared by DIY Halloween Chalkboard Signs with you last week that are sitting on part of my mantel, and I should be finishing up my other mantel project soon to share with you the whole kit-and-kaboodle!

Now you know I love to make fun, festive wreaths out of tulle. And Halloween is no exception! This Thrifty Thursday I was lucky enough to pick up a wreath form from my local Arizona Goodwill for just $.69! Add in some black tulle from Hobby Lobby (at 50% off) and a dollar store web with spiders and you have yourself one spooooooky spider wreath!

To make the wreath I simply cut strips of tulle at about 12 inches in length and tied them around the form until the entire form was covered. I then stretched the spider webbing over the back of the wreath. Now you could secure the web with hot glue; however I found that it stayed put just as is. I stuck a spider in the center and tied some extra web at the top to hang it by! Thrifty, quick and easy! My favorite kind of project. If you’d like a picture tutorial, be sure to check out my first tulle wreath post!

Perfectly spooky, right?

{Back to School} Tulle Teacher’s Apple Wreath

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing with you a quick and easy tutorial to make your very own Back to School Tulle Apple Wreath! If you’re new around here, one thing you will learn quickly is that I love tulle. Now that may seem strange since I only have boys at home, so there are no tutus being made over here! But actually I love to incorporate the material in fun, fluffy, easy-to-make wreaths. Don’t get me wrong, I love a cute yarn wreath as much as the next gal, but I don’t usually have the time to put into one. So tulle is my answer. Here are a few that I’ve made and showcased on A Night Owl:

St Patrick’s Day :: Easter :: Memorial Day/4th of July

Well now it’s time for the kiddos to head back to school. And  our 3 year old has actually started preschool so I now get to partake in the back to school goodness! Now school has already started for us, but many of you may still be preparing to head back, so I wanted to share with you a fun, easy Tulle Apple Wreath I made as a gift for my son’s teacher!

And here’s a quick how-to: I used a heart-shaped wreath form, two rolles of red tulle, part of a roll of green tulle, red ribbon, a wooden “E”, and brown foam paper. I simply cut similar lengths of red tulle and grabbing two at a time, tied them around the wreath form. Once the form was mostly covered, I tied longer lengths of green tulle to tie around the top as “leaves” of the apple. I then cut out a stem from brown foam paper and glued to the green tulle. I the spray painted the wooden “E” with a little chalkboard paint and used some chalk to give it some character. I glued a piece of ribbon to the “E” and tied it onto the wreath. Lastly I glued a ribbon to the back of the wreath for hanging. For a full picture tutorial check out my first tulle wreath post!

I hope you enjoy this little Back to School and Teacher’s Gift project!

{Thrifty Thursday} A Patriotic Tulle Flag Wreath

Patriotic Tulle Flag Wreath at A Night Owl
Well I bet you weren’t expecting to see something so fluffy and festive on this Thrifty Thursday, now were you? And you might be asking, how does this cute lil thing have anything to do with Goodwill or thrifting scores? Well I’ll show you! A couple of months ago I picked up this brown yarn-wrapped wreath from my local Goodwill.
Not only was the pricetag a thrifty $1.99, it also happened to be 50% off Saturday, so once de-yarned, I walked away with a perfectly good straw wreath form for just $1!
And now with the upcoming holidays, I knew just what kind of wreath I wanted to make with it…a fluffy and fun American flag! I purchased a roll each of red, white and blue tulle and from Hobby Lobby (which also happens to be 50% off this week, even more thriftiness!), along with red, white and blue ribbon. I cut 16 inch lengths of tulle from each color, gathered three at a time and tied around the wreath form. I alternated red and white on 3/4 of the wreath, and just blue on 1/4. For a full picture tutorial check out my first tulle wreath post!
I then hot glued ribbon to the back to tie in a bow to hang the wreath from and voila! Here’s how it turned out…

{Project Home} An Easter Wreath

Remember this St. Patrick’s Day Wreath I made a few weeks ago?
Well…being as resourceful as I am (ok, you may call it lazy), I fashioned my tulle St. Patrick’s day shamrocks with twine that I tied around the tulle wreath so that I could simply untie it come Easter time and add a more Easter-y themed banner. And that’s exactly what I’ve done! I used my handy dandy Silhouette Cameo and cut out some cute Easter eggs, glued them to some twine, added a new ribbon (that I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby for $1 I might add!), and voila! A perfectly Spring-y and adorable tulle Easter wreath (inspired by my friend Erin and this pin). What do you think?
PS – if you’re looking for the tutorial of how I made the tulle wreath in the first place, simply go to this LINK and you’ll see it step by step!
Happy Easter!

St. Patrick’s Day Tulle Wreath

A friend of mine, Erin, made an adorable tulle wreath for Valentine’s day, so I thought I would give it a try for St. Patrick’s Day and love the way it turned out!

I covered a straw wreath with green ribbon. Then cut hunter green and lime green tulle into 17 inch strips. I tied the strips of tulle around the wreath, alternating 3 hunter green strips and 1 lime green strip, all the way around the wreath until covered. I then cut out the letters”LUCK” and glued them to shamrocks, which you could also cut out (I happened to buy a package of pre-cut glitter shamrocks). I then glued the shamrocks to twine and tied the letters to the wreath. I glued green ribbon to the wreath and hung on the door.

I love the way that it turned out! It’s fluffy (as my husband calls it) and FUN!
